Three months!

Zoe you are three months old!  I am amazed every day at how much you are growing and learning.

Here are some things we did this month.  You had a playdate with your friend Jarrett!

You were so cute together, even held hands for a little bit.  We also took a little road trip up to Ector, Texas to visit your Nan and Paw.  Here you are smiling at Nan!

Here are some things you are doing now!
- Eating 4oz every three hours, but will be bumped up to five very soon
- Take six ounces before going to bed
- Still sleep in our room in your Pack n Play but are no longer swaddled
- Start your bedtime routine at 8:00 now and are asleep by 8:45
- Just recently started sleeping through the night up to ten hours the last few days
- Take a few naps throughout the day, but are up and playing a lot more now
- Still wearing a size 1 diaper
- Have grown out of all of your newborn clothes, they are packed away which made Mommy very sad!
- Fit best in 0-3 month clothes, but are fitting into some 3 month
- Doing very well holding your head steady
- Talking up a storm
- Starting to laugh
We don't go to the doctor again until your four month check-up but I can tell you're growing every day!  Here are a few more pictures from the past month.

Waking you up after a ten hour stretch of sleep!
Zoe, Daddy and I love you more and more every day, you are such a blessing to us, and we are so honored that God chose us to be your parents.  Love you baby girl!

Zoe is Two Months Old!

Zoe Grace, you are two months old!  Daddy and I love you more and more everyday.

We've had a few big changes the last month.  First, Mommy went back to work.  It was very hard to leave you that first day, your daddy had to push me out the door to get me to go.  Daddy stayed home that first week so I could get adjusted to working everyday again.  You and Daddy had a great week together!
Smiling at Daddy
The next weekend we got a new car!

Mommy's favorite part of her new car!
The next big thing is you started going to daycare!  It was so hard dropping you off the first morning, but you had such a good day, and Bobbi loves taking care of you!  And Fridays you stay with Gram!

All ready for your first day of daycare!
Here are a few things that you are doing at two months old:
- Weighed 10lbs 2oz at your two month check up
- Measured 22 inches long, you've grown an inch!
- Eat 4oz at each feeding and eat about every three hours
- Still sleep in our room in your Pack 'n Play
- Still sleep on your back and you like to be swaddled
- Have started taking naps in your crib
- The last few nights you have slept through the night between six and seven hours!
- Wear size 1 diapers
- Wear size 0-3 month clothes, you've grown out of almost all of your newborn clothes
- Do very well holding your head up when you are on your tummy
- Can sit in your Bumbo for a few minutes before you get tired

- Started sucking on your fingers even when you're not hungry
- Get a bath every night now as a part of your bedtime routine
- Have started following us with your eyes and just this morning I noticed you turn your head towards me when I started talking to you
- Have started "talking" to us, it's the best sound in the world
- Are on the verge of laughing, I have a feeling it will happen very soon!

Zoe, your daddy and I love you so much.  We can't get enough cuddle time with you and we just love to kiss on those chubby cheeks!  You are such a precious little girl and we can't wait to see what the next month brings!

First Smiles and New Cousins

The last few days, Zoe has really started smiling at us.  I was lucky to catch a few on camera!

Zoe up close!
Zoe with her Great Great Aunt Jane!

Yes, the bow is about the size of her head, but she looks so cute!
A few days ago, Zoe got to finally meet her new cousins Hunter, Maggie and Archer!  I had been telling her all about them and she couldn't wait to for them to come for a visit.  They finally made it after a long drive from Abilene.  We met them at Grammy Great's place and got to visit for a little bit.

Zoe's Visitors

Zoe will be four weeks old on Thursday and has had a lot of visitors come to meet her!  Our first night home, we had Zoe's Gram and G come over with Uncle Matt and Randi.  We also had my granddaddy and Sandy over to meet Zoe.  We watched some football and ate dinner while Zoe slept the entire time!

After a few days, Zoe finally got to meet her Grammy Great and see her Aunt Cathy again.  Here is a picture of her with Grammy Great.

And finally Zoe got a chance to meet her new cousins, her Aunt Cindy, and her Uncle Kevin.

This past Saturday we took Zoe on her first of many trips to Van Alstyne to say goodbye to our cousin Lucas who has joined the army.  She got to meet lots of new family and friends, here she is with Aunt Cathy and Aunt Jen.

We also went to visit cousin Chelsea who was at home not feeling very well, so we went over to surprise her.  I hope we made her feel a little better!  We love you Chels!

It is a blessing to see how many people already love our little girl.  Thank you everyone for coming by to see and love on Zoe!  She is so blessed to have all of you in her life, and so are we!

Introducing Zoe Grace Bowers

Zoe finally decided to grace us with her presence very early in the morning on January 5th!  I started having contractions the night before while I was having dinner at my parent's house.  Mike was working that night so I gave him a call and he left right away to pick me up.  We went home for a little while to pack up some things and then headed to the hospital.  We got there around 10:45 and Zoe was born at 3:23 the next morning!  I can't believe she's already a week old.  The last few days home with her have been a big adjustment, but we're all doing well.  Even Rowdy seems to be getting used to her, I think he's just as exhausted as we are!  Here are a few pictures from our hospital stay.

  Right after Zoe was born!

One proud Daddy!

Time for a nap!

Our dinner the last night at the hospital, steak and lobster and chocolate cake for dessert!

We were so excited to finally be able to meet our Zoe.  We are incredibly blessed!

First Post

So I thought I would start a blog so that we could keep friends and family up to date with what is going on with us and Zoe when she finally arrives.  I have quickly discovered that it is hard to write about something when you don't have any pictures or videos to go along with it, so Mike and I will have to start taking a camera with us everywhere we go!  Needless to say, this will probably be a pretty short post.

I thought I would tell everybody about our Christmas Light Date Night.  We decided that we needed one last date night before we officially become a family of three.  Last night, Mike and I went to Frisco Square and watched the Christmas lights there, we can't wait to be able to take Zoe back next year!  Then we went and had dinner at Saltgrass Steakhouse (one of our favorite places), and ended the evening driving through Deer Field.  One of Mike's old co-workers lives in that neighborhood and goes all out every year for Christmas.  We took a video of his house while we drove past, so here it is, enjoy!
